Hello. My name is Sari and I have been on a food journey since 2009. Due to a serious illness and many food allergies that developed in my 30’s, I had to change my eating habits drastically.

Not only did I need to eat differently and educate myself about nutrition and food alternatives, I also needed to learn how to love food again. In this blog, I will share with you many of the recipes that I have come to love, crave, and share with others in my daily life. They helped me recover from illness and as a bonus, lose 55 pounds. My blog also contains information about elder nutrition and suggestions for parents of picky eaters. As a Speech Language Pathologist, I am able to combine my love of cooking with therapeutic approaches that can help others through challenging times.

Since 2009, I have been living gluten, dairy, and egg free. I am also allergic to several fruits and vegetables including but not limited to pears, strawberries, snap/snow pea pods, melons, mangos, avocados, and some squashes. I know, it stinks! I am not allergic to soy, but I have learned to avoid it 99% of the time because soy and I ‘don’t get along’ anymore. So, all of my recipes are free of gluten, dairy, egg, and soy. I try to use organic foods whenever possible, follow a whole food approach to eating rather than buying processed foods, and I like to keep things simple. Since like so many of you, I have to balance a work and home life, I can’t spend hours cooking every day. I hope you all will try out a few of my recipes and suggestions.
