I like to have some meaty protein in the mornings between when I have breakfast and lunch.  This mid-morning snack helps me get through the first half of the day without feeling completely famished!  Since processed meats like bacon and sausages are usually very salty and can be expensive if you buy the good quality ones, I decided to try making my own at home.  This recipe is pretty easy and freezes well.  I make a batch and then keep them in the freezer; I will take out 1 or 2 at a time and heat them up.  Simple, satisfying, and cost-effective!  Not to mention, low sodium, gluten free, egg free, soy free, nut free, and dairy free.

  • I’ve never been a real breakfast sausage fan, but this sounds really tasty! I’m going to try it this weekend. 🙂

  • (I will add that I haven’t been a fan due to the incredible greasiness of the regular sausages. This sounds SO MUCH better!)
